Searching for drug info please contact us we're glad to help
We've noticed some people are visiting our site searching for answers to questions about their medications but don't use the contact us option here on our site for that information. Please don't hesitate to do so that function is entirely free of charge. A most notable question as the key phrase entered in someone's search was" if i experience diarrhea with metformin does this mean the medication isn't working?" Great question. Actually it indicates the medication is working and that you are experiencing one of the most common side effects of this particular medication. Approximately 30% of patients taking metformin as a single agent or when combined with some other oral agent for treating diabetes experience some form of gastrointestinal (GI) side effect. GI effects include anorexia( loss of appetite), nausea/vomiting, abdominal discomfort, dyspepsia (heartburn), flatulence(gas or bloating), diarrhea, and dysgeusia (metallic taste). These side effects tend to decline with continued use and can be minimized by initiating therapy with low doses of metformin.
